Hi, I’m Beth — the fiber artist behind the dye pots, carders, and spinning wheel at Spindelicious Wool Works.
My fiber journey began in 2006 in a small yarn shop in Bellingham, Washington. I walked in as a devoted knitter and left captivated by a circle of women spinning wool into yarn. Watching raw fleece transform through skilled hands felt like a revelation — a connection between land, animal, and maker that was both ancient and alive.
I needed to learn how to spin.
I learned from the hands and hearts of women who had been spinning long before I arrived. I studied, practiced, dyed, and experimented — drawn to both the deep roots of traditional fiber craft and the modern artists pushing it into new creative territory.
Today I specialize in dyeing fiber for handspinners — from combed top to custom-milled blends sourced from local shepherds and processed in my working studio. Each colorway is created with the spinner in mind: how the hues will draft, shift, blend, and bloom once transformed into yarn. My style leans painterly and vivid, creating a color-melting effect that comes alive in the finished skein.
Much of my own handspun finds its way onto my Ashford rigid heddle loom, because my handspun isn’t too precious to use — it’s meant to become cloth, to be worn, touched, and lived with.
Over the years, fiber has carried me through many seasons of life — including midwifery work in rural communities and walking alongside my husband through a year of cancer treatments. In both joy and hardship, making with my hands has been grounding and restorative.
In a fast, digital world, working with wool brings us back to something older and truer. Fiber slows us down. It reconnects us to our bodies, to the land, and to one another. Spinning circles and weaving gatherings have always drawn people together — stories spun alongside yarn, lives woven side by side.
Through dyed fiber, handspun weaving, and community, I hope to invite you back to your hands — and to the quiet joy of creating something real, useful, and beautiful.
Color-joy is included. ✨
